THE CENTRE
The day centre offers a place of warmth and safety as well as 'off street' time to those who are street homeless or vulnerably housed.
We specialise in providing advice and assistance on housing and welfare benefits. As well as providing general advice on a wide range of subjects.
All clients are encouraged and supported to let staff know what it is they need from the centre. This process starts at the front door and continues through out their stay. Day centre staff are available for advice, support and guidance either by requesting an informal chat or through a formal interview.
- The day centre can also provide:
- A comfortable lounge equiped with both TV and hifi
- Access to the local paper for both jobs and accommodation
- Subsidised tea and coffee at 10p a cup
- Access to a telephone for jobs and accommodation
- We give out blankets*, sleeping bags*, food parcels* and a small selection of clothing*
- The day centre is staffed by volunteers under the direct supervision of a paid team leader.
